Termination notice

Your termination notice has to be issued according to your Tenancy Agreement.

Any notice required to be given or served on the Landlord will be deemed served when received between 9:30am – 17:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Please note that we can’t accept your termination notice without a specified vacating date.

Should your termination notice reach us on a Saturday/Sunday, it will be accepted on the following Monday. Recorded or registered mail should be used if sent by post. Neither your Landlord nor Relo Redac Strattons bear responsibility for any delays in receiving a termination notice. Confirming receipt by telephone or email following service by post is highly recommended.

Once your termination has been processed, you will be required to provide us with;

  • your availability for the Inventory check-out
  • forwarding address
  • name of utility suppliers

Professional cleaning

You are required to leave the property in the same condition as when you took occupation, except for fair wear and tear. If the property was professionally cleaned when you moved in, likewise you will be required to arrange this when you vacate.

Our Moving-out department can book our professional cleaning service on your behalf. Cleaning must be arranged at least one month in advance. Some Landlords may prefer to use their appointed cleaning companies, in which case, you will be advised accordingly.

Standard moving out schedule:

3 days in advance Prepare for removal
2 days in advance Completion of removal
1 day in advance Professional cleaning (property must be vacant)
Moving out day Inventory check-out and return of keys

Inventory Check-Out

The inventory check-out will be conducted in accordance with Inventory check-in list and report. Any questions should be raised to the inventory clerk whilst Inventory is in progress. Usually, the report will be delivered within 5 working days, however in peak season, the compilation may take longer. Please contact us if you haven’t received the report within two weeks.


You or the inventory clerk will report to us your final meter readings. We will arrange for the change of consumer information to be provided to the suppliers, however you must advise which utility company you have used and any outstanding bills will be forwarded to the address supplied.

Deposit return

Based on the Inventory check-out report, we will seek to obtain any dilapidation claims from your Landlord. Such claims, if any, will be forwarded to you for your comments. You will need to reply in writing either to the Landlord or to us within 15 working days.
For Assured Shorthold Tenancies, if an agreement as to the amount of deduction is not reached, the tenant will need to register the dispute with their deposit protection scheme who will appoint an Independent Case Examiner to mediate on the matter.
For Contractual Agreements and Company lets, either party will instruct an Adjudicator to rule on the settlement of the deposit.
